Gov. Kathy Hochul says 12 additional testing sites will be popping up across New York soon.
The announcement Wednesday comes amid huge lines and even temporary closures of COVID-19 testing facilities.
“We know we don’t want people standing in long lines,” Hochul says. “We know there’s a crush right now for people who want to travel and see their families for the holidays.”
The new locations will be at some MTA stations, including Times Square and Grand Central Station.
Hochul is also planning on securing an additional 37 million COVID-19 testing kits.
She says she wants to make it easier for people to get at-home testing kits, especially parents of children so they can get tested before heading back to school.
