Hither Hills and Wildwood campgrounds are closed as nor'easter approaches Long Island
As a result of the nor'easter, state parks officials have decided to close the campgrounds at Hither Hills State Park in Montauk and Wildwood State Park in Wading River.

The expected messy weekend ahead has led to the closure of Hither Hills campgrounds in Montauk and campgrounds at Wildwood State Park in Wading River, state parks officials tell News 12.
Before Hither Hills campgrounds were closed Friday, there were 38 occupied campsites, with just fewer than 200 people, park director Tim Watson told News 12.
