The historic Tarrytown Lighthouse is once again open to the public following repairs after a break‑in last summer.

The reopening comes after four teenagers vandalized the lighthouse in June, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Westchester County officials said the building has since been restored to its original condition.

"The floors have been repaired, the walls have been repainted and the windows have been replaced," says Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins.

Officials also said new security measures are now in place to prevent future damage.

Tours of the lighthouse will begin tomorrow and are free of charge.
