A 16-year-old girl from Hicksville made history as the first girl on Long Island to earn every available merit badge in Scouting America.

Aaliyah Corley has been a member of Troop 163 in Rockville Centre since 2021.

She's now earned all 139 merit badges, including rare ones like bugling.

She says it took a lot of hard work and she participated in activities she never thought she'd do.

"It's been my goal for a while. A lot of people are like, 'come on, every merit badge, you can't do that' but if you work on it for a long time you actually can do it," says Corley.

Corley's journey to get all the badges included 73 nights of camping. She also mastered skills like welding, scuba diving, waterskiing and architecture.
