A Hicksville resident accused of stealing $9,500 from a man in 2025 has been charged with grand larceny.

Nassau police say the 40-year-old victim was contacted by a company called Wavepayz, which offered him debt relief assistance. He agreed and was instructed to issue payment to Purzue Care Inc. in Hicksville.

The payment was received and the company was supposed to negotiate terms with the victim’s creditors. However, police say none of the debts were satisfied.

The victim reported the incident to authorities in March of 2026. Following an investigation, officers arrested 43-year-old Nitin Pal Singh.

He was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
