The Hempstead School District has passed a questionable budget proposal totaling more than $215 million.
The Hempstead Board of Education held a special meeting last night to review the proposed
2018-2019 spending plan. It passed in a 4 to 0 vote.
However, some critics say there are too many unanswered questions on everything from personnel, to supplies, and security costs.
The budget is not expected to increase taxes for homeowners.
Hempstead residents vote on the budget May 15, the day all Long Island school budgets are up for approval.
