The rain didn't stop middle school students in the Uniondale School District from walking in honor of a beloved teacher.
Kiesha Wilburn, a social studies teacher, yearbook and eighth-grade advisor, suddenly passed away in January. She had worked at Lawrence Road Middle School for 18 years.
Instead of walking outside Sunday, students walked the halls of the middle school to raise money to ensure each eighth-grade student will receive a copy of their yearbook at little to no cost.
Wilburn’s husband says he is grateful for the community's support.
