A new COVID-19 testing site at Heckscher State Park was forced to close early Wednesday because of high demand.
The facility started testing at 8 a.m. and the park closed the line by 9 a.m. because it reached capacity.
The county-run testing site opened Wednesday on a first come, first served basis. News 12 is told it has the capacity for 1,000 tests.
Some people say they were waiting for nearly six hours as two more CityMD locations in Suffolk closed due to staffing issues.
Two state-run testing sites also opened Wednesday to help meet the demand. Those are by appointment only.

They are located at IBEW Local 25 in Hauppauge and Kennedy Memorial Park in Hempstead.
