Saturday's soaking rain and winds impacted some areas throughout Long Island while others saw just a rainy day.

From Massapequa to Freeport, downpours were heavy at times creating ponding on roadways throughout Nassau's South Shore communities.

Freeport's Nautical Mile, an area known to experience significant coastal flooding, was spared by the torrential downpours.

Suffolk County, however, was not spared. In East Northport, Larkfield Road just south of Jericho Turnpike experienced flooding. Town officials had crews pumping water throughout the day to avoid even bigger problems.

Town of Huntington Superintendent of Highways Andre Sorrentino said they had crews out pumping out drains since 4 a.m. He added that flooding would be a lot worse in some areas if crews were not hard at work.
