Pop-up storms expected for LI this afternoon

Long Islanders can expect the heat and humidity to continue today with a few pop-up storms in the afternoon.
News 12 meteorologists say some of the storms may produce heavy showers, thunder and localized street flooding during the afternoon. A flash flood warning is in effect for Nassau County until 1 p.m.
Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with highs 80 to 85 degrees.
For tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies with the chance of a shower or storm. Any storms could bring heavy rainfall. Lows 69 to 73 degrees.
On Friday, sun and clouds will give way to a chance of a shower or storm mainly early in the day. Any heavy rain will be south of Long Island. Highs near 82 degrees and lows near 70.
On Saturday, expect partly sunny skies with a high of 81 degrees.
