‘Hauntington Archives’ exhibit gives a glimpse into the haunted history of Huntington
A new exhibit at the Huntington Town Hall will take people into the haunted history of the town.
“The Town of Huntington dates back to 1663, and we have many spooky and scary characters over that time,” says Town Clerk Andrew Raia.
"Hauntington Archives" will give people a chance to speak with those characters.
People who attend will be able to learn more about Charles Kelsey being tarred, feathered and murdered in 1872, as well as the tale of Capt. Nathan Hale.
“I was hung by the British in 1776 until I was dead,” says the person playing the role of Hale. “I went behind enemy lines.”
Those who are into stories about witches can chat with the character Mary Estey, a witch who was tried and executed.
The exhibit is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday by appointment. If you are interested, you can call the town hall to schedule your appointment at 631-351-3216.
