Almost three dozen Half Hollow Hills School District buses were damaged over the holiday weekend, but that didn?t stop students from getting to class Tuesday.Superintendent Dr. Sheldon Karnilow says windshields and windows on the buses were smashed, tires were slashed and fire extinguishers were released in the vehicles. Officials were able to notify the district?s 5,000 elementary school parents by using the automated phone messaging system. Two local bus companies also pitched in and provided buses for the morning commute.
