Nassau police are looking for four men they say broke into a Valley Stream residence Monday morning.
Authorities say the men broke into the house at 75 South Drive around 4:45 a.m. and held three teenage girls and a 22-year-old at gunpoint. The suspects then went upstairs and a shot was fired during an altercation with a 20-year-old man living at the house. Neighbors say ?awful screaming? was echoing from the house.
According to witnesses, the 20-year-old man escaped the scene by jumping out a window and onto the roof. He then chased the suspects away using his car.
Nassau police do not believe the break-in was a random crime.
?There might be someone in that house that was targeted,? Det. Lt. John Azzata said.
Anyone with information regarding the intrusion is asked to call Nassau police at 1-800-244-TIPS.
