A Greenwich mother is pleading for a living organ donor that would help her son who is battling kidney failure at 25 years old.

Nick Navarrete's mother, Ruth Anapol, is making an urgent appeal for him to get the gift of life with a new kidney.

The family says Navarrete's kidney failed last year when he was just starting out in his adult life.

"Nick needs a living donor, a living kidney donor, so he can go on with his life. He is the kindest, gentlest person and he was just getting started and he deserves a chance," Anapol said on Sunday.

She adds that finding a living donor would allow Navarrete to bypass the long "deceased donor waiting list" and return to his normal life.
