Green-Wood Cemetery is moving forward to become the first cemetery in New York state to offer natural organic reduction.

It's an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burial and cremation.

“As the years go, by we’ve evolved in different ways we remember people," said Meera Joshi, the president and CEO of Green-Wood.

The cemetery partnered with German company, Meine Erde, to bring the technology to the U.S.

Green-Wood expects to begin offering this option in 2027 and encourages anyone interested in receiving more information to visit here.
