An inmate at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Dutchess County died on Sunday after suffering a possible drug overdose, according to multiple prison sources.
As News 12 has reported, the facility in the Town of Beekman has been under an EMS crisis with delayed or no ambulances available for inmate, staff or visitor emergencies since August.
Sources say a life support vehicle arrived 30 minutes after the call for help on Sunday.
News 12 reached out to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision for additional information Monday morning but did not immediately receive a response.
