Gov. Hochul signs Suffolk Water Quality Restoration Act into law

It will now be up to the Suffolk County Legislature to decide if the law will be put up for a vote in November.

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed the Suffolk Water Quality Restoration Act into law on Thursday.
It would expand and upgrade the county's sewer and septic systems.
The law would also see Suffolk County's sales tax increase an eighth of a percent to help pay for the project.
It will now be up to the Suffolk County Legislature to decide if the law will be put up for a vote in November.
