Cooling off this summer in New York is about to cost less.

Gov. Kathy Hochul says entry fees at all state parks swimming pools will be waived for the summer.

The move is part of the state’s “New York Swims” initiative making pools more accessible in communities.

Part of the $150 million investment also includes expanding swimming lessons in state parks.

Free sunscreen will also be made available at state parks all summer long. However, fees still apply at locations that charge for on-site parking.

The move affects two locations on Long Island – one at the Jones Beach State Park West Bathhouse Pool and the Montauk Downs State Park Pool.

More information about the initiative and full list of locations that the move affects can be found here.
