Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin encouraged Long Islanders to get out and vote Saturday night in Hauppauge with the help of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis campaigned alongside the gubernatorial hopeful at Zeldin's campaign headquarters.
The Florida governor is also seen as a potential contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
"I've known him for a number of years. I served with him, he's a veteran, he's somebody who has very strong values and most importantly, he is capable of exercising leadership. And that's what you need more than anything else," DeSantis said.
Zeldin is set to appear with another prominent Republican, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, on Monday for another get-out-the-vote rally in Westchester County.
