A Glen Cove woman was arrested Monday after officials said they found about 100 cats hoarded inside her home, where her two daughters were also living in poor conditions.
The Glen Cove Police Department says officers executed a search warrant at a home on St. Andrew Street and took a 54-year-old woman into custody.
She faces two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from the conditions in which her 18-year-old and 12-year-old daughters were living.
She also faces multiple animal cruelty charges.
The Nassau County SPCA says the cats range in age from newborns to adults.
Police say additional charges may be filed.
