Girl Scouts of Nassau County team up with DHL for 'Operation Cookie' to support overseas troops

Imagine how many cookies are in 80,000 boxes from the Girl Scouts? That's how many sweet treats the Girl Scouts of Nassau County are hoping to send to troops overseas this year during "Operation Cookie."
The partnership between the scouts and DHL Express has been going on for 18 years and has resulted in hundreds of thousands of donations.
Rande Bynum, the Nassau County Girl Scouts CEO, says it's "a way of getting a little taste of home across the globe to our servicemen and women."
Bynum says the program was extended during the pandemic to include local donations to "hometown heroes."
