New York State Agriculture Commissioner is warning consumers about a recall of Semita and Pan Chapin sweet breads from Genesis Bakery of Bay Shore due to undeclared soy. People with soy allergies could experience serious or life‑threatening reactions if they consume the products.

The recalled items were sold at retail stores throughout the New York Metropolitan Area and were packaged in clear wrap. Affected products include Semita sweet bread with the expiration date of March 28, 2026, and Pan Chapin sweet bread with the expiration date of March 29, 2026.

The issue was discovered during routine sampling by state food inspectors, with laboratory testing confirming the presence of soy. Consumers are urged not to consume the products.
