Patrick Sharkey, of Garnerville, has been sentenced to one to three years in prison for his role in a hit-and-run that killed 18-year-old Dariel Rivera.
Sharkey pleaded guilty in June to leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a revoked license and circumventing an interlock device.
The incident occurred in July 2023, when Rivera was riding his scooter to work on Route 303.
Sharkey turned himself in to police later that day.
During Thursday's sentencing, Rivera's family and Sharkey addressed the court.
