State officials are now probing the mental health of the suspected shooter in the assassination of veteran NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia.
Gov. Cuomo has launched an investigation into the mental health treatment of Alexander Bonds.
Cuomo says the Department of Health and Office of Mental Health are looking into St. Barnabas Hospital and how it admitted, treated and discharged Bonds.
Bonds apparently was given a psychiatric evaluation at the hospital’s emergency room for a short time on July 1, before he was released.
Meanwhile, funeral arrangements have been released for Officer Familia. Wake services will be held Monday at the World Changers Church in the Bronx from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the same church.
The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is gathering donations to help the three children left behind by Officer Familia.
