Family, friends bid farewell to retired FDNY chief who died from 9/11-related illness

Family and friends said goodbye to a 9/11 hero in Floral Park on Thursday.
A funeral was held at Our Lady of Victory in Floral Park for retired FDNY Chief Joseph McKie.
McKie was with the FDNY for 31 years and is survived by his wife Eileen and four children Joseph, Christopher, Emily and Grace.
A friend of McKie, retired Battallion Chief Butch Brandes, told News 12 four FDNY firefighters lost their lives just this past weekend.
According to the FDNY Uniformed Firefighters Association, McKie is the 303rd FDNY member lost to 9/11-related illness since the Sept. 11 attacks.
