Frontier Airlines to offer free checked bags through the summer
Southwest also announced it's ending its open seating policy after 50 years.
Frontier is offering free checked bags, free carry-on bags, free seat assignment and free flight changes for all nonstop travel through Aug. 18, if you book your next flight by this Monday, March 24th.
Frontier says it's your way of finding a new love. They say some airlines are treating travelers "like an afterthought" and add that it's time to file for a divorce from your old airline.
The deal comes just one week after Southwest announced it will no longer be offering free checked bags for its customers.
Southwest also announced it's ending its open seating policy after 50 years. Instead, flyers can select their seats ahead of time for a fee.
Frontier never specifically mentions Southwest in any of its communications. However, the new free bag policy for frontier starts on May 28, the same day that Southwest is ending its free check bag policy.
