First responders were invited to grab a free breakfast and coffee at Station Plaza Diner in Mineola at First Responder Friday Breakfast!

As a thank you to health care workers making sacrifices daily to keep their community healthy and safe, the Global Foundation for First Responders invited them to pick up the most important meal of the day, at no cost to them.
"They are going in to harms way every day. We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. They are our angels," expressed William McGuire, the executive director of the Global Foundation for First Responders.
The breakfast helped more than health care workers. The Station Plaza Diner typically gets most of its business from the men and women who commute on the Long Island Rail Road.
Co-owner of the Station Plaza Diner George Arniotis said, "It's been hard. We are usually busy every morning with people headed to work in New York City."
He called the breakfast a win-win situation for everyone involved; health care workers enjoyed breakfast and Station Plaza Diner could keep their staff working another day.
"People have families. We have people coming in and working so that is nice," Arniotis added.
