Police are asking parents to speak with their children who may have been in class with a South Huntington substitute teacher who now faces child porn charges.
Officials want to know if the students were subjected to any inappropriate physical contact. Prosecutors say Francesco Santodonato, of West Babylon, was found with digital child pornography.
Detectives say they tracked down Santodonato's activity on a website known for hosting child porn and opened an investigation. After some digging, they say they realized that Santodonato had made some of the videos on the website. The videos were allegedly found on his home computer and thumb drive.
Santodonato is a popular third-, fourth- and fifth-grade at Maplewood Middle School.
Santodonato has pleaded not guilty and is being held on $50,000 bail. He is due back in court on July 31.
