Four sought for robbing Melrose shoe store, attacking employees

Police are searching for four people they say are responsible for robbing a shoe store in Melrose and attacking two employees.
The robbery happened on Dec. 4, just before 6:45 p.m. at JD Sports, located at 410 Westchester Ave.
The NYPD says the employees, a 19-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, observed a woman and three men removing merchandise from an unattended pallet.
When the pair attempted to stop the robbers, one of the men punched the female employee in the face while another slashed the male employee in the face with a knife.
The robbers ran from the scene with merchandise of an unknown value, according to police.
The employees denied medical attention at the scene.
Authorities say the assailants are approximately 20 to 25 years old.
