It's the final countdown for Fortunoff as the store will close its doors forever in just a few months.
The home goods and jewelry store started slashing prices- and everything must go.
Many shoppers, like Nancy Severe, of Valley Stream, are finding good deals. While she's going home happy with her purchases, she says she can't help but feel sad that this Long Island icon will soon shut its doors for good.
"This situation in the economy, you see how bad it is right now and those people are going to lose their jobs, its very scary," Severe says.
Fortunoff opened 87 years ago, but the liquidator who bought the retailer says most merchandise is expected to go within two months.
Gift cards for the store must be used before March 8, after that, Fortunoff says it will stop honoring them.
