President Trump endorsed Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman in the race for governor this weekend. It comes after Congresswoman Elise Stefanik abruptly announced she dropped out. So joining us now to talk about what it means to Nassau County legislator Seth Koslow, the Democrat. Who just challenged Blakeman in the county executive race last month. Seth, good to see you. Thanks for joining us here. Um, what's your reaction? Bruce Blakeman in the span of a month went for candidate to county executive to now, a leading candidate for governor for the Republicans. Rich, thanks for having me. You know, it's, it's interesting that we're making such a big deal out of this because, you know, Bruce refuses to do his job, right? His job is Nassau County Executive and he's done anything except that. And now he's running for governor and expecting people in the state to expect him to do that job, even though he refuses to do the job he has now. He, he immediately announced he's running for governor right after, uh, winning the election and less than 2 days later decided to do that. What is he going to do for the state if he's not going to do his job here in Nassau County? Well, the Blakeman campaign, the candidate himself, they are talking about. Uh, Public safety. They're talking about affordability. They're talking about the issues that he ran on in that county executive race. Do you think it will resonate with voters here? I, I think the problem is what's going to resonate with voters is the fact that he was elected to do a job and 55% of the people in Nassau County voted for him to do his job as county executive, and he's just not doing it. He can't possibly go around for the next 10 months spending millions of dollars of taxpayer funds. While he's campaigning throughout New York State and do his job, and that's what voters want. They want our elected officials to do their job and represent them, and you can't do the job as county executive while going across the state talking about whatever you think is important even though you're not fixing the problems here in Nassau County.
