A former Hauppauge fire chief died Saturday morning while
taking part in a drill with the Suffolk Urban Search and Rescue Team.
Stephen Feron, 49, was a second-generation chief of
department who served from 2018 to 2019.
Details surrounding his death were not immediately
available.
