Some Farmingdale residents are left wondering how they are going to pay for damage done to their homes and belongings following Friday’s storm that left their basements flooded.

Those who live on Linwood Avenue were hit hard. Gina O’Brian says her family was scared for their lives.

“It went from 0 to 100 very quickly – it was a sinking feeling of 'I don’t know what to do,'” O’Brian says.

She says the water came up to their first floor, so she picked up her children and left their home.

O’Brien and her neighbors say they are faced with thousands of dollars in repairs and that their insurance companies are not helping out so far.
