A flight landing at Newark Liberty International Airport prompted an emergency response Wednesday night after the crew reported a blown nose‑gear tire.

American Airlines Flight 1461 had departed Charlotte just before 7 p.m. and landed safely in Newark shortly after 9 p.m.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the Boeing 737 had a blown nose‑gear tire, noting that the aircraft model has two tires in that location.

An American Airlines spokesperson said emergency crews were initially called in, but once the plane was on the ground the situation was determined to be a non‑emergency.

No injuries were reported.

The incident comes just several days after a deadly crash at LaGuardia Airport, where two pilots were killed when an Air Canada jet collided with a firetruck on the runway.
