Flames engulfed several boats at the Patchogue Shores Marina in East Patchogue Tuesday evening.
Suffolk fire officials say the blaze began just after 7 p.m. and spread to eight boats.
Six departments, along with the U.S. Coast Guard and Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau, were at the scene to try and douse the flames. Officials say firefighters returned to the scene three more times when flames rekindled on a boat and on the dock.
Authorities say four firefighters were treated at the scene with minor injuries, and at least one was transported for further treatment.
David Kazmark has owned Patchogue Shores Marina for the past 17 years, and despite the charred vessels and burnt building, he plans to have his business reopened by the weekend.
