A person had to be rescued from a vehicle after a crash in Suffolk County Monday afternoon.
The Northport Fire Department responded to the collision on Route 25A in Northport.
Crews were met with an occupant trapped in a pickup truck that drove into a pole on the corner of the roadway.
Firefighters used the Jaws of Life hurst tools to remove both driver’s side doors from the vehicle to gain access to the victim.
Fire officials tell News 12 the person was transported to a local hospital by Northport Rescue for treatment of injuries.
“Outstanding work by all members involved in a challenging extrication operation,” the department said.
