Two storms will bring the threat of rain to Long Island this week. The first will have light rain showers during the morning rush hour of Tuesday. This could impact travel plans with wet roads and windy weather conditions. The second storm could bring up to an inch of rain on Thanksgiving and it could be an all-day rain event. The weather dries out Friday into the weekend. The temperature gets much colder from the weekend into next week.
TODAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy, chance of showers with a low around 44. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
Tuesday: STORM WATCH. Cloudy with morning rain. Late afternoon clearing. High near 60. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
Wednesday Night: Showers after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 39.
Thanksgiving Day: STORM WATCH. Cloudy with periods of rain with a high near 54.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 49.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
