One person has been severely burned in a house fire in Patchogue, according to fire officials.

The fire happened this morning on Northridge Street. Viewer video shows flames shooting out of the house.

Police say the call came in around 4:38 a.m.

Fire crews contained the fire, stopping it from spreading to nearby homes.

Police had the road closed for a few hours and had a mobile command unit set up on the block.

A Patchogue fire official told News 12 that firefighters rescued a woman from the house, and she was taken to the Stony Brook Hospital with severe burns on her face.

The fire official says the house is condemned. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
