A three-alarm fire broke out at a home in Levittown, firefighters say.
The incident happened on Old Farm Road around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Fire officials tell News 12 that there were heavy fire conditions on two sides of the house because the flames were impinging on the oil tank.
Everyone inside the house, including pets, got out safely, according to Levittown Fire Chief Mike Herold.
Neighbors say there was a lot of panic at the scene.
"I was in the kitchen when all of a sudden I saw all of these flames and a boom," one person said. "The fire is like 20 feet high then the tank went up. They came in and made me leave, they grabbed the dog and the bird."
Herold says multiple units, including the East Meadow Fire Department, were called in to put out the fire.
