Fire officials are working to determine what sparked a fire at a Merrick church last night.
Firefighters received a call about the fire at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Hewlett Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. Police say there was nothing suspicious about the blaze.
There were no injuries.
The church was badly damaged during the incident.
