Suffolk County homeowners dealing with damage from August flooding will not be getting any help from the federal government.
FEMA has denied Gov. Kathy Hochul’s request for disaster funds for residences damaged in the summer storms, according to the governor’s office.
A spokesperson for the governor says they plan to appeal the decision.
Federal assistance had already been granted to help rebuild destroyed infrastructure in affected communities.
