Music echoed through Medford Memorial Park on Sunday as the community gathered for a heartfelt cause at the second annual Feel the Music fundraiser concert.
The "concert extravaganza" was organized to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The event not only brought together Long Island musicians but also marked a significant milestone for one particular group of teens.
The atmosphere was also vibrant, with attendees showing overwhelming support.
"There are 16 bands lined up, and they donate their time and talent for this cause," said Cathy LoSchiavo said, the event's organizer.
Among the performers was Masque, a budding band whose journey to the Medford stage started at the Rock Underground of Patchogue, a music school.
"This is a really important gig for me. This is our first major outing," said Coleman Blackler, lead singer of Masque, reflecting on the band's debut performance.
For Masque, this event was more than just a musical milestone -- it was a chance to make a meaningful impact.
"It's so exciting and, of course, I'm a little bit nervous but more than anything, I am just super excited," band member Claudia Koronkiewicz explained.
"It was just for a really good cause. I know several people who suffered from childhood cancer," Blackler said, emphasizing his personal connection to the cause. "It's really rough and it's scary."
The Feel the Music concert not only raised funds but also created memories for the community and the budding musicians of Masque. It was a day where the power of music and the generosity of a community came together to make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer.
LoSchiavo promises to continue this annual event for years to come.
