3h agoA Long Island firefighter has died of a Sept. 11-related illness.
FDNY firefighter and West Islip native Frederick Gallagher died Tuesday.
He started with Engine 290 and retired with Ladder Company 103.
A wake for Gallagher is being held Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
It will be held at Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home.
