Police say a Long Island man was killed in an early morning crash with a tractor-trailer on the Cross Bronx Expressway.

The NYPD says 38-year-old Richard Edwards crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the expressway near Jerome Avenue before 2 a.m.

Police say the truck was driving down the center lane and began to slow down due to traffic caused by an earlier crash at the entrance ramp from Jerome Avenue and that's when Edwards crashed into the truck.

He later died at the hospital. No arrests were made.
