The FDNY says a person was injured in a Flatbush apartment fire on 19th Street Friday night.

Officials say the call for the fire came in at 8:40 p.m. Crews were able to contain the fire by 9:22 p.m.

News 12 spoke with tenants like Fernand Celestine who say it was scary.

"I heard a bang because the fire was on the other side of my apartment and I ran outside," Celestine said.

The Red Cross told News 12 they were assisting 21 people with temporary housing or financial assistance as of Saturday night. Five of the impacted were children.
