A father and son were killed in a single-vehicle crash in East Farminglade.
Police say Ravi Maharaj, 44, was driving his car with his 11-year-old son, Lochan, in the vehicle when he lost control of the car on New Highway and struck headstones at Saint Charles Cemetery at around 4 p.m. Saturday.
Detectives believe that Maharaj's vehicle hit a fence and then went barreling into the headstones.
Maharaj was pronounced dead at the scene. His son was rushed to a hospital, but didn't survive.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, but police are asking anyone who may have information about the crash to contact them at 631-854-8152.
