A Farmingdale restaurant owner is reaching out to those in need this holiday season.
The Turning Point Restaurant and Bar in South Farmingdale offered free food Wednesday night.
Owner Alex Barrell says a lot of people in his community are struggling financially because of the COVID-19 pandemic and he wants those in need to start the holiday season with a fresh, hot meal.
On Thanksgiving Eve, the chef served up pasta, steak, salad, mashed potatoes, chicken fingers and fries.
Even though Thanksgiving Eve is traditionally a big bar and restaurant night, the Turning Point did not serve any alcohol Wednesday night - it was all about feeding people in Farmingdale.
