A Farmingdale man who served nearly 17 years in prison had his murder conviction overturned.
Paul Scrimo was convicted in 2002 for the murder of floral designer Ruth Williams.
An appeals court found that a Nassau County judge's ruling denied him a fair trial.
Scrimo challenged his conviction for years. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
Scrimo won't be released until prosecutors decide whether to seek a retrial.
