It was largely smooth sailing for attendees of Monday’s Cricket World Cup match in Nassau County.
One cricket fan said, “The organization was fantastic” and another said it was a "really easy commute."
Some attendees opted to drive to the Nassau Coliseum parking lot. Most then walked to the match or took buses.
Some people told News 12 that they were told the buses were only for those with mobility issues, but the Nassau County executive’s office said those buses were for everyone.
Other attendees took the Long Island Rail Road to the Westbury train station and then hopped buses over to Eisenhower Park.
While fans were happy, one nearby resident was not. He did not want to speak to News 12 on camera but said there were multiple cars on his block that had been parked there by cricket match attendees. Police are urging attendees not to park in residential neighborhoods out of respect for the local community.
