The Family and Children's Association headquarters in Garden City officially opened Friday.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication of the Treiber Family Center was held to celebrate.

"We don't want them to feel like they are less than. We don't want them to feel like they're coming to a social service agency hidden away in a back alley somewhere," says Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds, CEO and president of FCA. "We want them to feel like they're entitled to the same quality of care they would otherwise be afforded."
FCA began as an orphanage more than 136 years ago and now supports 30,000 Long islanders from families to seniors.
